DoH: Avoid kissing religious images, self-flagellation

THE Department of Health (DoH) has strongly advised devotees to avoid inflicting harm on themselves during Holy Week, such as crucifixion and self-flagellation, to prevent possible infection caused by open wounds.

It also reminded those who will attend in-person masses to avoid kissing or touching religious statues as the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) continues to linger in the country.
