'Agaton' intensifies into tropical storm

TROPICAL cyclone 'Agaton' has intensified into a tropical storm and is expected to make landfall in Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

The tropical storm was spotted off Guiuan in Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (km/h), gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and a central pressure of 996 hectoPascal (hPa).
