VICE President Maria Leonor 'Leni' Robredo on Saturday paid tribute to Filipinos who have 'shown courage in the most difficult situations and have faced bigger and stronger enemies'.

'Ginugunita at binibigyang-pugay natin ang mga Pilipinong nagpakita ng tapang sa panahon ng kagipitan: mga humarap sa malaki at malakas na kalaban, pumalag, at napilitang magbaba ng armas ngunit di kailanman binitawan ang pag-asa (We honor and respect the Filipinos who have shown courage in the face of difficult situations, confronted bigger and stronger enemies, fought, and and laid down their arms yet have never lost hope),' Robredo said on Saturday as the country commemorates the 'Day of Valor' when Filipino and American soldiers fought Japanese troops for 93 days in Bataan before surrendering on April 9, 1942.
