PH Army acquires disaster response vehicles

THE Philippine Army's (PA) 51st Engineer Brigade got a boost on its humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) with two new Vehicle Mounted Mine Detectors (VMMD), a ranking official said Saturday.

In a statement, Army spokesman Col. Xerxes Trinidad said the up-armored and modified tractors were acquired through a government-to-government deal between the Philippines and the United Kingdom (UK).
