New P1,000 banknotes out starting April 18

NEW P1,000 bills will go into circulation next month as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) pushes through with a shift to polymer banknotes.

The release will be done in phases beginning April 18 through over-the-counter bank transactions, central bank Governor Benjamin Diokno said in a virtual briefing on Thursday.
