Groups slam PPA container project

THE Philippine Ports Authority's (PPA) container monitoring project is unnecessary because the Bureau of Customs (BoC) already implements the container identification and accountability program of the World Customs Organization Cargo Targeting System (WCO-CTS), groups said.

Various groups of brokers, truckers and shipping lines industries opposed the PPA's Trusted Operator Program-Container Registry Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) project and sought a moratorium on bidding procedures.
