Mapua downs JRU to stay unbeaten in NCAA

Mapua University outlasted Jose Rizal University (JRU), 59-56, to stay unbeaten in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 97 men's basketball tournament at the La Salle Green Hills Gym on Friday.

Down by six, 43-49, with 6:12 left in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals unleashed a 14-4 run capped by a Paolo Hernandez triple to take a 57-53 lead over the Heavy Bombers with 40.9 seconds remaining in the game.
