Cignal outplayed Petro Gazz, 25-21, 25-23, 25-23, in Game 1 of their best-of-3 semifinals series at the Filoil Flying V Center on Friday, and moved a win closer to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference Finals

Ria Meneses led the charge for the HD Spikers with 14 points on 11 attacks and three blocks in the match that lasted for one hour and 32 minutes.
