THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported on Friday that $274.04 million in foreign portfolio investments, or "hot money," entered the economy in February, the most in eight months.
Last month's net inflows — the highest since $334.51 in June last year — were the result of $944 million in gross inflows and $670.47 million in gross outflows, an about-face from the net outflows of $40.44 million in February 2021, according to the most recent numbers from the central bank.
