IPs refuse govt sharing plan over ancestral domain

INDIGENOUS peoples (IPs) in General Santos City have rejected a government recommendation for a 50-50 land sharing of at least 3,293 hectares of their ancestral domain in Barangay Tambler.

Jeanne Anne Moendig-Zoilo, Region 12 director of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), said six IP clan leaders were claiming 700 to 800 hectares for each of them but that the government cannot accommodate their demand for the entire and actual ancestral domain.
