THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said the country's headline inflation rate likely climbed to 4.7 percent in March, a five-month high because of rising fuel, power, and food costs.

In a statement issued on Thursday, central bank Governor Benjamin Diokno said the point inflation projection was within the BSP's expected range of 3.3 to 4.1 percent for the month. It is also quicker than the 3 percent increase in February, but a moderation from the 4.1 percent uptick a year earlier.
