THE bishop of Pasig City has opposed the construction of the Pasig River Expressway (Parex), saying it will destroy the river's ecosystem and biodiversity.
In a statement, Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara said Parex is not a solution to the traffic gridlocks in Metro Manila and it "will only worsen the future" because of the negative impact it will have on the ecology, health and the economy.
