Letran opens title defense with victory over Benilde

Colegio de San Juan de Letran frustrated the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, 67-63, to begin its title defense with a win in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 97 Seniors basketball tournament at the La Salle Green Hills Gym in Mandaluyong on Saturday.

The Knights proved to be steadier in crunch time, using their championship experience to stave off the Blazers, who had the lead at 61-60 with 3:20 left in the fourth quarter.
