Ateneo staves off UP, begins four-peat bid with win

Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) staved off University of the Philippines (UP), 80-71, to begin their four-peat bid in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 84 Men's basketball with a victory at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The Fighting Maroons lived up to their moniker as they fought back with a 23-10 run to climb from a 75-55 hole and pull within seven, 78-85, following Zavier Lucero's two free throws with 2:49 left in regulation.
