THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) advised the public to handle coins properly or face jail time and fines.
"Proper handling of coins helps maintain their structural integrity, which also promotes vigilance against their unlawful use," central bank Governor Benjamin Diokno was quoted in a BSP statement released on Wednesday.
