WE have arrived at a bittersweet juncture at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where I and the whole organization must bid our beloved colleague and my comrade, Commissioner Ephyro Luis Amatong or Comm Eph as we fondly call him, goodbye. He has served the commission from way back in 2014, fully embodying honor, excellence and unwavering commitment to the fulfillment of the SEC's mandate.

As supervising commissioner of the Markets and Securities Regulation Department (MSRD) and as one of the SEC's representatives in the Capital Market Development Council, Financial Sector Forum and the Financial Stability Coordination Council, Comm Eph championed initiatives and reforms that transformed the Philippine capital market into an inclusive and accessible source of financing for businesses, including small and medium enterprises, as well as creating a safe and secure investing environment for investors.
