GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite: To help village micro businesses during the pandemic, Mayor Antonio Ferrer approved City Ordinance 22-06, which provided an exemption to small mom and pop stores, commonly known as sari-sari (variety) stores, from obtaining and paying a business permit for the fiscal year 2022.

The Office of the Mayor in Barangay Bagumbayan announced on March 7 that the new ordinance would benefit the city's nearly 2,000 sari-sari store owners. The ordinance was authored by Councilor Florencio Ayos, chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means, and approved by the Sangguniang Panglungsod with 13 councilors present, led by Morit Sison.
