I MET Mayor Benjie Magalong shortly after he was elected mayor of Baguio City. It was an acquaintance meet with the Pinecone Movement of Baguio to which I belong. Mayor Magalong was gracious and grateful for the support we expressed for him. He did not make any promises except that he would try his best to give Baguio good governance.

Last week, or three years later, we met for the second time briefly and he said he was into 31 projects for the city. It was the Philippine Military Academy graduation week in Baguio which coincided with the visit of a presidential candidate so there was not too much time for him to elaborate. This week I went back to Baguio for the elaboration, a briefing on the projects and plans given by Magalong's chief of staff, engineer Philip Puzon, at the mayor's invitation.
