SMC nears pre-pandemic profit level

THE full-year income of diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corp. (SMC) surged year on year as its businesses recovered last year.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ang-led firm reported a 120-percent jump in its net income to P48.2 billion in 2021 from P21.9 billion in 2020.
