SolGen blasts Comelec-Rappler partnership

SOLICITOR General Jose Calida on Monday asked the Supreme Court to stop the implementation of the agreement signed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and online news agency Rappler to conduct fact-checking, poll-related content production and voters awareness promotion during the election season.

In his petition for a temporary restraining order, the OSG (Office of the Solicitor General) named as respondents Comelec acting Chairman Socorro Inting and Rappler chief executive officer Maria Ressa.
