A LOCAL official from Quezon province on Thursday filed a criminal complaint against a journalist, a Public Works executive and a lawmaker for causing his five months' imprisonment over allegedly fictitious and spurious charges.
In a news conference at a restaurant in Makati City, Manuel Arkie Yulde, a councilor from Lopez town and represented by his counsel Alfredo Villamor, charges of serious illegal detention were filed before the Makati City Prosecutor's Office against Jaime Aquino and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 1 (Ilocos Region) Director Ronnel Tan and Quezon Fourth District Rep. Angelina Tan. Aquino was a former correspondent of The Manila Times.
