THE International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Monday that athletes and officials from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in all sports, after their governments breached the Olympic Truce as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.
"In order to protect the integrity of global sports competitions and for the safety of all the participants, the IOC Executive Board recommends that International Sports Federations and sports event organizers not invite or allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in international competitions," the IOC's Executive Board released.
