FEARING that the country's problem with illegal drugs will have a resurgence once he leaves Malacañang, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed hope his successor will sustain his campaign against narcotics even with "less ferocity".

"I hope that whoever would sit as president would continue, if not with the ferocity that I did, kahit lang sana a (even if a) little lower than my standard, kasi talagang sisirain ang bayan natin (because it will really destroy our country)," Duterte said in his pre-recorded "Talk to The People" public briefing.
