Leyte LGU hails Senate action to stop e-sabong

MATAG-OB, Leyte: Mayor Michael Torrevillas of this town has hailed the leadership of the Senate to stop the operation of e-sabong after the chamber's investigation of the disappearance of 32 sabungeros (cockfighting aficionados) in Metro Manila.

Torrevillas said their local government unit (LGU) through the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) led by Vice Mayor Bushi Torrevillas is probably the only LGU in the country that passed last year a resolution calling an end to e-sabong, an online gambling game.
