PCFMI backs SRA on sugar importation

AMID the backlash from the local sugar leaders, the Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers Inc. (PCFMI) expressed support for the Sugar Regulatory Administration's (SRA) importation of 200,000 metric tons (MT) of refined sugar, on grounds of food security.

The SRA issued the Sugar Order 3, allowing the importation of 200,000 MT of refined sugar by food manufacturers for crop year 2021-2022.
