THE government confiscated almost P25-billion worth of fake goods last year, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) said.

In a briefing on Thursday, IPOPHL director general Rowel Barba said the 13-member National Committee on IP Rights or NCIPR, which IPOPHL chairs, registered a record-high P24.9-billion worth of counterfeit goods seized from inspection and raid operations in 2021.
