TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: The Department of Agriculture Regional Office 2 (DA-RFO2) has recognized eight towns for keeping their areas African swine fever (ASF)-free while 16 others in heavily stricken Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) as locally upgraded from red (infected) to pink (buffer) zones.
DA-RFO2 Executive Director Narciso Edillo named the municipalities of Divilican, Dinapigue and Maconacon in Isabela province; Calayan, Rizal, Peñablanca, Santa Praxedes in Cagayan; and Alfonso Castañeda in Nueva Vizcaya on Wednesday as ASF-free.
