Souring inflation pulls Britain's real wages

LONDON: Even with job vacancies rising to a new high in Britain, real earnings fell as wage growth lagged behind soaring inflation, the country's Office for National Statistics said on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila).

In the final quarter of 2021, growth in average total pay (including bonuses) was 4.3 percent and growth in regular pay (excluding bonuses) was 3.7 percent among employees.
