WORLD Athletics, the world's governing body for the sport of athletics, took the side of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (Patafa) in its handling of the issue involving Filipino Olympian pole vaulter Ernest John "EJ" Obiena.
In a letter addressed to Patafa president Philip Juico dated February 10, World Athletics president Sebastian Coe, a former two-time Olympic middle distance gold medalist, thanked Juico for informing the World Athletics about Patafa's Dec. 29, 2021 Committee's Report on Obiena.
