HONG KONG: Aid from the central government to help the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) fight against surging Covid-19 infections will greatly boost public confidence amid a gloomy epidemic situation in the city, which is finding it difficult to trace all infections and quarantine people after reporting over a thousand new cases for a fourth day running.
The Department of Health reported on Sunday that the city reported new 1,347 confirmed cases, of which 1,345 were domestically transmitted.
