AES integrity under threat

THE hacking incident report first published by the Manila Bulletin last Jan. 10, 2022, poses a challenge to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in securing the May 9, 2022 national and local elections and protecting the integrity of the automated election system (AES).

Stakeholders have expressed alarm at the incident, worried that the AES may be hacked and the vote counts may be manipulated.
