TRAVESTY is how I would describe what is currently happening in our electoral process. And why is this so? Because we allowed anomalous electoral practices to bastardize a very important phase of our democracy.
Election after election we see the entry of actors, unscrupulous individuals, members of drug syndicates, and even criminal warlords getting elected to various positions. It is a cliché that those who have the guns, goons and gold make it to the finish line, but it is so true. Because we did not protect the sanctity of our votes. And it all starts with the Commission on Elections.
