PRESIDENTIAL candidate Faisal Mangondato is pushing for the shift to federalism, saying it is the only solution to the prevailing problem in Mindanao where lasting peace has remained elusive despite years of government's negotiations with rebel groups.

Guesting in The Manila Times' "Diretsong Pananaw" interview of presidential hopefuls, Mangondato said a shift from a unitary to a federal system of government could be the ultimate solution to the Bangsamoro issue.
