THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is seeking the transfer of alleged Eastern Visayas drug lord Rolan 'Kerwin' Espinosa to a more secure facility at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bicutan, Taguig City following his recent foiled attempt to escape from the NBI Detention Center.

According to NBI OIC-Director Eric Distor, the request has been made to the Department of Justice (DoJ) to comply with the security and safety protocols of Espinosa as a person under the witness protection program while in the custody of the government and at the same time as an accused appearing at cases pending in different courts.
