Over the holidays, I wanted to prepare a main dish that did not require extensive effort and can be doable with just a bit of planning (operative word, bit). There were a lot of things to be done in parallel, not only in minding the kitchen for the food preparation but also making sure that gifts, presents and other related activities were dealt with. While this requires strength in terms of multitasking, in terms of kitchen preparation I must admit I am a fan of microtasking, so preparing a dish that requires steps that can be broken down into small tasks appealed to me.
