PRIOR to 2022, the most recent Year of the Water Tiger was 60 years ago. 1962 was a year packed with drama: American astronaut John Glenn orbited the Earth, actress Marilyn Monroe was found dead, South African leader Nelson Mandela was arrested and the Cuban missile crisis almost triggered World War 3.

But it was also the year when the first Beatles recording and first James Bond movie were released, the Second Vatican Council was convened by Pope John 23rd (now Saint) and then-Philippine president Diosdado Macapagal changed the commemoration of Independence Day to June 12 from July 4.
