IN 2007, the "Anti-Red Tape Act" or Republic Act (RA) 9485 was passed. This law was intended to improve efficiency in the delivery of government services to the public by reducing red tape (as the name suggests) in order to prevent graft and corruption. It was a good law since the government was obligated to the general public on its accountability, management and operation of public properties and the affairs of the State.
Added to these are the integrity of the government to improve on the honesty and responsibilities of officials and employees to speed up the transactions in government, especially those providing frontline services to the public.
