A MAGNITUDE 5.2 earthquake hit Batanes early Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
With a depth of 187 kilometers, the quake took place around 3:10 a.m. some 53 kilometers north-east of the town of Itbayan, also in the province, Phivolcs said.
