A total of 1,020 master cases of smuggled cigarettes with an estimated value of P28.87 million has been seized by the Bureau of Customs (BoC) at the Davao International Container Terminal (DICT) in Panabo City, Davao Del Norte.
In a report on Tuesday, the BoC's Intelligence Group revealed that the shipment was originally declared as 1,077 packages of assorted items such as plastic washbasins, plastic chairs, drainer baskets, and bond papers. However, a physical inspection showed that the goods were misdeclared as authorities discovered smuggled cigarettes, containing 1000 master cases of Two Moon cigarettes and 20 master cases of Fort Menthol cigarettes.
