Bureau of Cooperative under DA to consolidate agri-sector

UNDER the Department of Agriculture (DA), the proposed Bureau of Cooperative would play a pivotal role in consolidating fragmented farmlands to enable the Philippines to achieve economies of scale and agro-industrial modernization.

Sen. Richard Gordon said the government should promote 'cluster' farming or cooperative farming in order that a large scale of land could be consolidated amid the agrarian reform's land fragmentation.
