Enough coal for January – DoE

THE Department of Energy (DoE) has downplayed the possibility of power outages in the country, saying coal-fired power plants have enough stock buffer of coal to sustain power operations until the end of January.

DoE Director Mario C. Marasigan, in yesterday's virtual press briefing, said the initial feedback that they have is that all of the coal-dependent generation companies (Gencos) can survive the 30 days period without restock piling.
