THE albatross that keeps weighing down our politics is the over-abundance of fanaticism and idolatry among us. The use of the words 'diehard' in 'diehard Duterte supporters' or DDS, and 'loyalist' in 'Marcos loyalists' evoke a kind of fealty that matches, if not exceeds, faith and the marriage vow of 'till death do us part.'
