QC most wanted person nabbed in Isabela

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Monday announced the arrest of a former member of the Philippine Marines who has been listed as the No. 1 most wanted person at the Barangay Holy Spirit Police Station for illegal possession of firearms. Behind bars is Joseph Sabbaluca, 55, who was collared by members of the Holy Spirit Police Station (PS-14) under the leadership of Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bilaro in Barangay Malitao, Echague, Isabela around 3:30 a.m., Sunday. QCPD director Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra said Bilaro had coordinated with the Echague police prior to the arrest of the former military man who was said to be a long-time resident in the Isabela town. Sabbaluca has a pending warrant of arrest for violation of Presidential Decree 1866 or illegal possession of firearms issued by Judge Alfonso Ruiz II, of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 216. The QCPD declined to provide more details as to why Sabbaluca became the station's most wanted person, but it said there was no bail recommended for his supposed temporary liberty. The court of origin will be notified of the arrest of Sabbaluca, according to the QCPD chief as he hailed his men for their constant dedication that led to the arrest of Sabbaluca. 'We will not stop with our operation to hold accountable those hiding under the law,' Yarra said. Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office, said: 'I laud the QCPD for a job well done. Their team is indeed committed to serving and protecting the people of Quezon City.'
