Rizal's 3D-printed monument: An Instagramable fusion of art, history and science

JOSE Rizal's latest monument stands on the grounds of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) in Taguig City and was designed by Professor Jose Manuel Sicat of the University of the Philippines Diliman-College of Fine Arts.

Sicat explained that in the latest monument, Rizal is depicted as very much in touch with his environment, and he's surrounded by children with whom he's extending his left hand, symbolizing his handing over his contribution to the next generation. His right hand faces an empty space to show the possibilities where science and technology can be used.
