THE Department of Agriculture (DA) said it is working on further accelerating the production of corn, the country's second main staple.
In a statement, the DA said the agency will do the said initiative in partnership with farmers' cooperatives and associations (FCAs), local government units (LGUs), and key industry players. "Much is yet to be done, however, as the country's sufficiency level, particularly of yellow corn, currently stands at only 59 percent," it said.
