DoST holds virtual presser for unveiling of 3D-printed Rizal monument

TO honor our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, on his 125th year of martyrdom, the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) — through its Science and Technology Information Institute — held a virtual presser on Dec. 28, 2021 in line with the unveiling of the historical marker and 3D-printed Rizal monument on Dec. 30, 2021 at the DoST complex.

Prof. Fortunato de la Peña, DoST secretary, gave his message about Rizal as a Filipino scientist and highlighted the hero's life and legacy as a rationalist that must be remembered to inspire us to be more focused on cultivating advanced learning and technology. In line with the commemoration of Rizal's death anniversary, a series of webinars about him, which started in 2022, would continue until March 2022.

To honor and remember Jose Rizal’s life and work, Prof. Fortunato de la Peña and Department of Science and Technology (DoST) Undersecretary Rowena Cristina Guevara share their thoughts and insights with the media about the 3D-printed monument initiated by DoST. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
