BSP cautious on digital currency issuance

PHILIPPINE monetary authorities are still weighing the pros and cons of introducing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) given its potential impact.

Also known as digital fiat currency, CBDCs are digital money, denominated in the national unit of account, that are issued by central banks.
