Duterte urges Filipinos to honor 'modern-day heroes who are at the frontlines'

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte urged Filipinos to honor the country's 'modern-day heroes who are at the frontlines' as the nation commemorates the 125th death anniversary of national hero Jose Rizal on Thursday.

In his Rizal Day message, Duterte likened those in the frontlines against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to Rizal, who was also a dedicated physician.
