THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that the country's seasonally adjusted palay (unmilled rice) production reached 5.201 million metric tons (MMT) in the third quarter of this year, up considerably from the previous quarter and the same period in 2020.
PSA said in its "Seasonally Adjusted Palay/Rice Production and Prices" report that palay output for the July-September period this year was 4.3 percent higher than the previous quarter's 4.985 MMT and up 5.2 percent from the 4.945 MMT a year ago.
