THE ongoing PBA Commissioner's Cup was held, against all odds, with imports. The PBA stood firm in their multiconference format, with or without the pandemic. They needed to offer something new, since they already concluded the Philippine Cup.
It had the makings of a disaster. A 6'6 height limit to ensure that the locals would not be dominated limited the options for the teams. With most international tournaments currently ongoing, including the Japan B.League and the Korean Basketball League, most quality imports were not available.
